La Tech Made in Italy

From open and vulnerable to structured and protected.

A growing platform for Italian tech: podcasts, a software directory and events. It needed a system to manage that growth without breaking what already worked.

#1on Google, and ranked above Capterra in AI answers
Proof from AI search

Ask an AI. See who comes first.

Someone asked ChatGPT where to find Italian software for their company. This is the real answer, replayed. La Tech’s directory came first, above Capterra.

2 of 5recommendations point to La Tech’s site: first and fifth

Replayed from a real ChatGPT conversation from 2026. The site was called Software Italiani (softwareitaliani.com) then; it’s latechmadeinitaly.com now, so the names are updated. Original Italian text, shortened. AI answers change from one session to the next, so treat this as one real result, not a promise. Read the original conversation

The problem

Growing, with no system.

The platform was growing, but without a system to manage that growth.

Anyone could register instantlyNo approval step, so spam accounts got straight in.

Software went live without moderationSubmissions were published as soon as they were sent.

Users couldn’t edit their own listingsEvery change meant writing to the team.

The goals

Evolve it. Don’t break it.

01

A structured approval process for accounts and listings.

02

Protect the platform from spam.

03

Keep all existing content, data and search value.

How a new user and a new listing move through the site

My approach

Migrate, don’t rebuild.

Instead of starting from scratch, a controlled migration: map the journey, fix the logic, then the visuals.

Full page screenshot of the software directory
01

Strategy first

  • Mapped the full user journey
  • Found the weak points in registration and submission
  • Redesigned the approval logic before touching visuals
02

Migration

  • Moved the existing site, keeping content and SEO value
  • Set up the new structure without losing what was already built
03

The system

  • A custom Software post type, built with JetEngine
  • Structured submission forms with JetFormBuilder
  • Admin approval for registrations and software listings
The registration page: benefits on the left, the sign-up form on the right
Registration, now with approval built in.
The result

See it up close.

Drag through the screens, or open one to see it full size.

01 The new homepage
02 The software directory, with filters
03 Registration, with approval built in
04 The structured software form
05 The podcast library
06 Italian Tech Landscape, live on stage
What changed

Control, for them and their users.

A modern layout

Controlled user registration

Moderated software listings

A content system that scales

The client now adds podcasts, moderates users and manages software listings on his own. Users control their profile and their listings, and can edit them any time.

I met Giuliano a few years ago when I was looking for a web developer for our new project we had at the time. The project is called La Tech Made in Italy.

What immediately surprised me about Giuliano was that he didn't just listen and execute it, as everybody does probably do, but he took the project fully in his hands. Starting from the concept, then the content, the UX, and then the execution of the entire project. What is great at the end is that he understood the company communication first and then the operational needs we had at the time, because we need to be as much as independent as we could. And he just nailed it. The result is live today. You can see it. We have a super functional website, perfect for SEO with great numbers and thanks to his hard work, talent and great dedication.

And Giuliano, the good thing is that he was completely working like another member of our team. Giuliano today is for us an important asset. He developed four other projects for our companies, including my personal webpage at maxbrigida.com.

And what really amazed me about Giuliano is his attention to details and his way of taking each project as he were his own project and come out with the best results. So, fully [satisfied with] Giuliano in our team. And I just think that everybody should have a professional like him. Thank you.
